Membership

The Great Lakes Newfoundland Club wishes to welcome you and your family as owners or prospective owners of a Newfoundland dog.  While we are confident that you will discover your Newfoundland to be everything you should hope for as a devoted family pet, we think that you should know that owning a Newfoundland opens a new range of enjoyable and rewarding activities.

Some of these activities include:

  • AKC conformation competition

  • carting/draft work

  • obedience training and competition

  • rally trials

  • water rescue training and trials

  • agility

  • backpacking

  • tracking

The GLNC is an organization devoted to allow our dogs to reach their maximum potential.  The Club sponsors educational programs and a variety of activities, such as fun matches, education days, draft tests, water tests and regional specialty dog shows, all for our members.

We invite you to join us in our activities and call upon us if we can be of assistance to you!

If you are still not sure about a Newfoundland dog or about joining the GLNC, please come and check out one of our many events.  Please contact us at anytime with questions, concerns or feedback.

We are here for you and we hope to see you soon!

Membership Process

Once you submit your application...

  • it will be read at the next GM meeting (general membership meeting).

  • At the next GM meeting, it will be voted upon by all attending members. You are welcome to attend this meeting!

  • If it is not safe to have a GM meeting, the board will vote on members at Board meetings.

The application to membership process can normally take up to three months, obviously in the age of Covid it may take longer to gather.
